Rust’s modularity enables reusable, cross-platform UI accessibility infrastructure. And Rust’s minimal runtime overhead enables reuse across languages as well. This talk will describe a project to provide this type of UI accessibility infrastructure and discuss how the community can get involved.
Matt is a legally blind developer who has been working in accessibility for over 20 years. He developed a Windows screen reader starting in 2004, was a member of the Windows accessibility team at Microsoft from 2017 through 2020, and is now the lead developer of AccessKit, which provides reusable, cross-platform UI accessibility infrastructure for both Rust and other languages.
